The External Advisory Board (EAB) is an essential component of the ReConnect/ReCollect project. Comprising nine members, including representatives from Filipino American organizations, community elders, and Filipino Indigenous People (IP) communities in the United States and the Philippines, the EAB provides invaluable guidance, expertise, and cultural context to ensure the project’s success.

The EAB’s key responsibilities include offering insights into Filipino cultural heritage, colonial history, and community perspectives, as well as providing feedback on project activities and methodologies. They help shape the project’s outcomes, facilitate connections with community organizations, and hold the team accountable for ethical practices. The EAB’s involvement ensures that the project remains culturally sensitive, accountable, and aligned with community needs, fostering trust and meaningful connections between academia and the Filipino communities it serves.
