From May 14-28, 2022, ReConnect/ReCollect will host a two-week, paid residency at the University of Michigan that invites three visual artists– Maia Cruz Palileo, Francis Estrada, and Janna Añonuevo Langholz– to engage our Philippine collections, exploring the themes of archives, material history, decolonial praxis and restitution, and Filipino, Filipinx, and/or Indigenous identity.
During this residency, R/R will host one public event –a Roundtable with our artist residents– on May 26 at 4:30 PM in North Quad 2435.
An exterior courtyard will be available and refreshments will be provided.
All are invited to engage with Maia, Francis, and Janna as they reflect on their exploration of UM’s Philippine collections.
The event will also be live streamed. Register here.
